Dancing is a big feature and mini game in the Disney Magical World video game series. In the first Disney Magical World game, the only type of dancing is ballroom dancing and the only place to dance is Cinderella's World. In Disney Magical World 2, they expanded on the ballroom dancing feature and created ballroom dances of many more themes. The ballroom dancing feature was now put into the Castleton world instead of the Cinderella World. They also added another dance style which was hula dancing which could only be done in Lilo & Stitch's world.
They also added mining which is another rhythm game with a very similar gameplay as both Ballroom and Hula dancing.
Another dance-related feature they added in the second game was the dance performances in the café and dance shows which is something completely separate and different from the dancing mini game series.
In the café there are also dancers who are always dancing to make the café more lively. This is another completely separate feature.
Ballroom Dancing[]
Ballroom Dancing is the main type of dancing in both Disney Magical World games and the only type of dancing in the first Disney Magical World game. It is a simple activity/mini game where the player attends several balls where they dance.
In Disney Magical World, the only place to dance is Cinderella's World, and there are certain episodes in that world where the player has to attend ballroom dances. Those episodes are the few episodes in that world that don't pass as quests. There is also a girl who stands by the fountain in that world and if you talk to her, you can practice the dancing mini game.
In Disney Magical World 2, they moved the ballroom feature over to the Magic Dance Hall in Castle Square, Castleton and now players could attend ballroom dances of many different themes and varieties. In this game, the ballroom feature is unlocked after the player throws a Cinderella themed party.

Hula dancing[]
Hula dancing is a feature that wasn't brought into the game until Disney Magical World 2. Even though the visuals on the screen and dancing styles that the characters are doing are different from the ballroom dancing, the gameplay and structure is exactly the same as the ballroom gameplay in Disney Magical World 2. There are only two hula performances to attend and the only place to Hula Dance is in Lilo and Stitch's World. Both hula dances are done in episodes.

Gameplay for Ballroom/Hula dances[]
Disney Magical World 1[]
A panel that is split into fourths shows up on the screen. As stars will appear in each of the four sections of the screen (and on the top screen, as well), the player must use their stylus to tap the stars in the order in which they appear, before they disappear. Sometimes, stars will have several layers and will need to be tapped multiple times in a row to successfully clear them. If an arrow emerges from one star to another star, the player must move their stylus across the corresponding slider at the bottom of the screen. At the end of each dancing episode, there is usually a large star with a rainbow circle in the center of the screen that you'll have to rapidly spin with the stylus. Every time the player does a movement correctly, they will earn points. If the player fails to do the right movement in time, they will miss the points they would have been awarded. They can also earn combos by getting multiple steps right in a row. The player will also earn points for dressing properly by heading out with recommended clothing. The pattern of the stars happens on the beat of the music. The patterns will get harder every level. At the end of the dancing episode, the player's points will be added up and the player will be scored with 1-5 crown icons. If the player gets 3 or more crowns, the episode will count as cleared.
Disney Magical World 2 & Disney Magic Castle KiraKira Shiny Star[]
On the screen, icons for the buttons: A, B, X, and Y will appear on the screen. The player must press the buttons in the order in which they appear, before they disappear. The scoring works the same way. For doing a step correctly, they will earn points. For doing a step incorrectly or missing a step, they will get a miss and will not earn points for that step. At the end, the points are added up, and the player's score will be represented with 1-5 crown icons (ballroom) or 1-5 golden hibiscus icons (hula). If the player gets 3 or more icons, the dance is counted as cleared.
Dance Shows[]
Party dances/ dance shows are completely separate from Ballroom and Hula dances. They are not mini games. Instead, they are musical dance performances that the player character can perform during parties at the café with the characters at the party. As the characters perform, the player can sit back and watch the performance. Party dances are only in Disney Magical World 2. To learn more about party dances, visit: Dance Shows. Also, in the café when there is no party, there are dancers that perform on the stage of the café to make the café even nicer. To learn more about that, see dancers.
