Photos are photos taken by Cameron and Cammy of your avatar and the Disney cast.

Types of photos-Cameron and Cammy[]

Cameron is introduced in Disney Magical World and his photos can only be taken when the player is given the opportunity (either from characters asking for photos, photos being a reward for a favor, or photo opportunities at parties). Cameron is also in Disney Magical World When a player accepts to take one of these photos, the characters and player will appear in front of a location as a pleasing background. The characters will be positioned in a place and so will the player. The player can choose an outfit AND the greetings that they can perform for the photo. When the photo is taken, the characters will pose! Sometimes, effects will surround the edges of the photo to make the photo nicer. After the photo is taken, they will be teleported back to where they were when they asked for the photo.

Cammy is introduced in Disney Magical World 2. Cammy's photos can be taken at ANY place at ANY time. They are simple screenshots that the player can take during the game.

Photo opportunities[]

Cameron[]

There are a couple ways to earn a photo opportunity with a character, and you don't have to take it when it does, but it will continue to show up until you do.

One way is to throw a party in your Café themed after the series that the character is from. There are several cast members from each film that will show up, including, in the case of a The Beauty and the Beast-themed party, main protagonists like Belle and the Beast to the side characters like Lumiere and Cogsworth. It IS random, and no amount of resetting will change who is going to show up. At the party, there is an absolute chance to get a photo with whichever character(s) show up. To take it, talk to the manager and request taking a photo.

The other way is by granting favors for Disney characters. After 1-3 favors completed, the character in question will have a little icon of Cameron in a speech bubble above them, signifying that they would like to take a photo with you.

Cammy[]

Since Cammy allows the player to take screenshots at ANY point in the game in ANY place, if a character is present, you can already go ahead and take a photo with them. However, if the character is not present and is not one of the characters that makes random appearances in Castleton, you must invite them to a party just like with Cameron, and there you can snap a shot with the character.

Taking a Photo[]

Cameron[]

You can only take photos if a character has a photo icon over their head, or at parties.

At any point in the game, when you are given the opportunity to take a photo, Cameron will fly in the view of the screen and a selection screen will appear on the lower screen that asks you if you want to take a photo or not. If you choose to take a photo, Cameron will fly downward and will bring you to the main photo scene.

You will see your player and the Disney character(s) you chose to take photos with in a location ranging from Castleton to any of the other worlds (or the café if the photo takes place there). You will then have four options: Taking a photo, choosing an outfit for the photo, choosing greetings for the photo, and viewing the photo album. The last three options are essentially the same as their regular world counterparts. You may also select B to cancel the photo.

If you select "Take a Photo", a white border will surround the top screen, with a few sparkles of the type you currently have on you in the corner. Pressing the directional pad will make your character perform a greeting that has been assigned to one of four directions on the pad. Once you're ready to take a photo, press A. Cameron will count down from 3 to and 1 and take a photo just as the characters pose. During this timeframe, you may perform a greeting to strike a pose. After the photo is taken, you will have four other options: Saving the photo to your photo album, retaking the photo, returning to the Photo Menu, and cancelling the photo, therefore not saving it to your album. If you save or cancel the photo, you will return to the regular world.

Cammy[]

This feature was brought into the game in Disney Magical World 2. Cammy gives the player the ability to take screenshots whenever they want. (during episodes, during dance shows, dream parades, anywhere, etc.) The player can either just press the L and R buttons at the same time OR, they can hold L to look at the photo settings, and while they are holding down L, press R to take the screenshot.

Obscure Characters[]

Pete is the greatest example. There are others, but Pete is the one to fear. He shows up randomly and has no current way to summon him even though his Photo is one of the Happy Stickers for photos. Certain characters do not have a way to bring them in to your town and will show up randomly with a chance of having a request. They follow the same 1-3 rule though, thankfully.

Photo Album[]

When a photo is taken, it gets sent to your Photo Album. To view it, press X to open the main menu, select "Albums", and then choose "Photo Album". This will bring up an album featuring all the photos you have taken, sorted from the earliest to latest photo. The album has a height of 3 photos and a width of how long that album expands. The photos are normally aligned in a 3x3 grid; to view more, press the left and right arrows on the directional pad to move across the album. Only 100 photos can be stored in the album; if you want to save space for more, you can delete a photo. To do that, press "A" while selecting a photo and choose "Delete photo" to remove it from your album. You may also do this by taking a photo, then selecting "Stop taking photos" so the photo won't be saved to your album.

Trivia[]

  • If you haven't take a photo with a character for a long time, they might ask for another photo once you've already taken a photo. This may happen more than once, and can occur up to several times. This can get quite irritating if you're looking to speak with the character, and becomes especially so if the character in question serves as a gateway for an important section, like Chip. However, this can be bypassed if the characters notice an Ace Ensemble you're wearing. If you talk to them while that happens, they will speak to you normally and you'll be able to continue where you need to go to.
