Theme combos are particular combinations of items in the café, all of the same theme. Theme combos can occur with furniture, café recipes, and the outfits that the staff are wearing.
When the player hosts a party, the theme of the party will be whatever theme the café has the most combos of. When a party is hosted, Disney characters of that theme will show up to the party along with regular residents. The player can take photos with the characters. It is good to acknowledge which characters you want to show up because there are happy stickers that can be earned by taking photos with specific characters. The party will not have a theme if there are not enough combos of one theme.
Secret combos[]
Secret combos are needed for the player to earn theme medals. Secret theme combos are combos of a certain theme that contain items from a rarer and more expensive series. For instance, the "Minnie Silhouette" series is more expensive and needs rarer materials than the "Minnie's Home" series, which is from the same theme but is available earlier on. This is one step to getting a medal. The requirements to receiving a medal are:
- Having a total ensemble of a certain theme.
- Having at least 2 secret combos in the ensemble: at least one for furniture (some sets have 2), and one for food. (though for decorations, the rarity doesn't matter)
- Encountering all the possible combinations of guests at a party with a certain theme. (If you're aiming for the Desert Sun medal, you might need to see Aladdin alone, Genie alone, Genie and Carpet together, and Aladdin and Genie together, among other combinations to meet this requirement.)
Once that's done, if you hold a full-ensemble party with 2 secret combos as mentioned above, a character corresponding to the theme will appear will an orange exclamation mark over their head. If you talk to the character, they will congratulate you for running the café and give you the medal. With the medal, you can craft a wand at Yen Sid's tower that is more powerful than the strongest wands of a world. This only works for Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Western (for Goofy), Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Aladdin, and (possibly) Pirates of the Caribbean themed parties. It may take several tries for the character to appear with a medal, so patience is key.
Note: a combo of some more expensive/rare items + more common items still counts as a theme combo. However, it does not count as a SECRET combo. For example, two foods from the Minnie Silhouette set + one food from the Minnie's Home set are still a theme combo because they are both part of the Minnie Mouse theme, however, since the "Minnie Silhouette" set is more expensive and needs rarer materials than the "Minnie's Home" set which is not that rare or expensive, it would not count as a SECRET combo.
