NOTE: I don't own DMW2, so I'll only be covering episodes from the 1st game. The Pirates of the Caribbean Bonus Episode, if there is one, won't be included since I don't have the DLC and am unable to know the episodes in Port Royal.
Hello! This is Mickeystealth28, and I'll be covering the Bonus Episodes of each of the worlds that have it, ranking the episodes from easiest to hardest, at least in my opinion. Without further ado, here is my list.
#3[]
At the bottom of the list is the Bonus Episode of Aladdin's World: "Genie's on a Rampage!?" Now, that doesn't mean I don't like the episode, but I felt like it was the simplest to complete. It starts out with a little girl pondering about the identity of a big blue man causing chaos in the ancient ruins, leading you to go there to investigate. Compared to the previous episode, this one was kind of a letdown. Aladdin's World is known for the gradual difficulty spike compared to the other quest-based worlds (not sure about Pirates, though, since I haven't played that one yet), and for its really aggravating enemies (Baboosh, I'm looking at ya). In fact, the episode before had you fight THREE Babooshes in an enclosed space with fire in the middle, which proved for a challenging experience that not even Unlimited Magic could save. This one? Not so much. The enemies you find in this one are: the Polyrollons, which are fortunately easier to dodge by edging yourself at the end of the space you're in, the Roly-Polyrollons, which haven't changed much, Flaptraps and Flappity Traps, which thankfully don't appear in groups, and Fawooshes, which you can actually attack from a distance to save you the trouble of being chased. The Final Boss Ghosts aren't too difficult to defeat either. Coalem uses the same tactics from "Get the Lamp Back!", with his elemental orbs shooting lazers, fireballs, and lightning at you, which are fairly easy to dodge. Once they've been taken care of, the ghost will rise and attack with his hands, which are very slow and can be attacked. He will sometimes collapse to give you time to attack him. Growlem, whom we later find out is the real "blue man", hasn't changed much from its previous counterpart, attacking quicker and being stronger, but that's about it. The best part about this episode is that it is extremely rewarding, giving you all sorts of rare materials from chests and in the ground, including the exclusive Trustone Plate. Take this fact, combined with it being the easiest of the Bonus Episode for me, and you'll see why I visit it often. Overall, it's a good quest, though it doesn't pose that much of a challenge to me.
#2[]
Landing on the #2 spot is "The Girl's Lovely Shoes" in Cinderella's World. You find the shoes for the girl in the woods, as simple as that. Most parts aren't too bad, such as the Polterspike secret dungeon. Queen Pokey and Jabby aren't that bad, either, but somewhat more challenging than Coalem for me. They will shoot seeds at you, which you can dodge quickly, and stick their vines into the ground and have them burst out of it, which is easy to evade, but may pose a threat as the "slapping" attack can deal a good amount of damage. What truly makes this episode difficult for me are the Poppins. If you looked at my proifle before, you may have noticed my "hardest to defeat enemies" section, and I listed those enemies there, due to their ranged attacks. When you take these enemies and merge them into groups, it's going to be a very rough day, seeing that your avatar will constantly be barraged with spiky balls with barely any time to fight! And there are two instances of this setup, back-to-back! The trolling Gassy Blastghasts who love to strike as soon as a cutscene begins can be this to some, but they aren't too bad unless you're going for as much Magic Stones as possible. It also gives out a lot of rare items like the Midnight Clock and Silent Sunset Lily, as well as the only way to mass-harvest Wishing Herbs. It's a nice quest, and keeps everything balanced.
#1[]
"Special Unbirthday Tea". These three words rung a special bell inside me. Guiltea was the first boss that ever killed me in battle, and in this bonus episode, there's TWO of them! Before we get to the bosses themselves, we have to navigate mazes full of rapidly-moving spiky bushes, Bingo Boingos who can glitch through the walls and attack you rapidly, and Thwakkas that are sluggish, but can deplete all of your hearts with a single blow of their charged up hammer (not to mention that they are mostly in narrow corridors). Then, we get to Guiltea: this massive teapot will constantly shoot liquid at you, which is easy to dodge, but there are teacups circling around it that are very unpredictable in their movements. If you destroy all of the cups, the boss will go absolutely berserk at you, spraying beams of liquid in such a way that it seems impossible to dodge. It wasn't until later that I found a strategy to make this boss significantly easier. When destroying the cups, leave 1 or 2 left so that you can constantly attack Guiltea while there aren't much obstacles to dodge. If you break them all, however, you can hide behind the entrance of the arena to avoid getting hit by its lethal beam attack. Vanitea isn't much different, just a little more powerful. This episode also gives you the pleasure of not 1, but 3 exclusive items: the Ominous Bird Feather, the Fortune Herbs, and the seed of the previous item, in addition to other rare items like the Rainbow Clover. All in all, this quest is well worth getting through, and provides an excellent amount of goods.
If you disagree with any of my opinions, feel free to comment. Anyway, that's about it for this list!
