These are what I think I could be some great playstyles for the first DMW if players want a challenge (or not) (most for quests):
- Regular Playstyle: play the game as you normally would. Keep the stronger items, and make what sells you the most money.
- Limited Wallet Playstyle: try to make it through the game while spending as little money as possible.
- No Special Attacks: you can't use special attacks in quests; only regular and charged wand attacks.
- 1-2-Hit-Point Wonder: wear any clothes during quests so you'll have only 1-2 HP circles, but strong wands. Try to make it as far through the quest as possible.
- Many HP, No Damage: this time, only the weakest wands are allowed (Beginners' Wand offers extra challenges), but the stronger quest clothes must be worn. See how far you can make through (it might take a long time.)
- Back to Basics: The hardest "mode" of all - use non-quest clothes and the weakest wands to complete a quest. Essentially Nightmare difficulty for this game. Proceed with caution.
- Speedrun: Try to complete a quest or mission as quickly as possible.
- Magic Stone Rush: This playstyle makes uses of a mechanic where every 10 enemies you beat within 15 or so seconds grants you a Magic Stone. In this mode, you'll have to defeat ghosts as quickly as possible and trying to let the counter reach a multiple of 10. Though cutscenes seem to "slow" the progress down, they essentially freeze it in place, but the counter will always go away at the same time.
- No Damage: exactly what it says, complete a quest without taking damage.
- No Harm Done: Complete a quest without defeating any enemies, except if necessary.
- No Items: Complete a quest without picking up items. I heavily recommend staying away from this one because a lot of items are valuable to a player's inventory, even the more common ones.
